Montpellier, October 8th, 2021 – Digital Africa transforms itself to better support the scaling up of African start-ups with high potential impact on the real economy. With a redesigned structure and organisation, better aligned with the way African innovation actors and ecosystems operate, Digital Africa will be more agile to deploy its activities. New funding and capacity building programmes have also been announced, including a joint project with Make IT and the German government.
A General Assembly of the Digital Africa Association was held on 22 July 2021, with the aim of approving the accounts and presenting the 2020 activity report. In the meantime, plans are underway to relaunch the project.
An extraordinary General Assembly of the Digital Africa Association, convened by the Association’s Board, was held on 7 May 2021.
Digital Africa announces today the nomination of Jean-Pierre BARRAL for AFD as President. He replaces Kizito OKECHUKWU, who held the position of acting President since June 2020.
Former kLab General Manager will structure and deploy the Digital Africa network across the continent.
